2015 word of the year–BOLD

BOLD
If you could choose one word to represent yourself in the new year, what would that word be?

I was challenged by my team leader to think about a word to define my intentions and goals for 2015. I wanted a word that would serve as a foundation for all of my goals in 2015. Strong seemed like the obvious choice for my fitness goals but did not resonate with my goals in other aspects of my life.

I thought for a while about each one of my goals. I considered potential obstacles I may encounter then brainstormed ways I would overcome them. At the heart of this there was a repeating theme of being courageous by going outside of my comfort zone and taking lead.

That was when my word came to me: BOLD. Bold is defined as: (adjective)
not hesitating or fearful in the face of actual or possible danger or rebuff; courageous and daring. It is defined in the Oxford dictionary as: (adjective) (of a person, action, or idea) showing an ability to take risks; confident and courageous.

Being BOLD is the foundation of achieving my goals and overcoming any obstacles that may stand in my way. I am going to be honest, the thought of being BOLD sounds terrifying at times. However, as the saying goes: If you want something you have never had, you must be willing to do something you have never done.

What is your word for the year?

My word for 2015, which I’ve also posted to my dream board is present. I want to live in the present, not focus on the past,or ponder the future. I want to ensure that I constantly enjoy what’s occuring in front of me instead of thinking about what must be done in the coming days, weeks, and months.
