At the Tampa Super Saturday Beachbody event a couple weeks ago I had the pleasure of meeting the phenomenal Autumn Calabrese in person!  She is a celebrity fitness trainer and creator of the 21 Day Fix program that seriously changed the way I look at food.  I mean seriously!  Before I started the 21 Day Fix, I was not eating well balanced meals.  I thought everything was supposed to be low fat and low carb (um hello, what was I eating?).  I also binge ate fruit.  Did you know it is possible to over-eat on healthy food too?  Well it is.  I was doing it.  The 21 Day Fix nutrition guide is so simple.  You choose the proper calorie range for you based on your current weight, your weight loss goals, and the workouts you are doing.  Then based on that weight you determine the amount of each type of food you should eat in a day.  For example, I should have 4 servings of protein (that fits within the red container shown in the picture).  I was definitely not eating enough protein throughout the day, which explains why I previously could not gain any muscle.  On the 21 Day Fix program, you do not exclude anything.  You eat an appropriate amount of protein, veggies, fruit, carbohydrates, and healthy fats.  You are even allowed treats such as chocolate, pizza, and wine.  This program has completely changed the way my husband and I meal plan and eat throughout the day!

Now the 21 Day Fix Extreme is going to be a little bit different.  According to Autumn, this program is for those who are really looking to get competition ready and maximize their results.  With that type of goal in mind, discipline is required.  Those treats I mentioned, including wine, are excluded in the 21 Day Fix Extreme.  You will absolutely fine tune your eating.  I know that sounds scary, but if you think about it, it is only 21 days.  Just 3 weeks you guys!  It may be tough, but I know we can do this!

At Super Saturday I also had the absolutely honor and pleasure of trying one of the 21 Day Fix Extreme workouts!  This was a lower body workout, and it should have included weights and a band, but since we were a large group we had to modify.  You guys, it was TOUGH but oh so FUN!  While we felt like we were dying, Autumn was there shouting our encouraging words just like in her videos!  There were lunges, there was jumping, there was jumping in a lunge position!  For real!  This was like 21 Day Fix on steroids!  My legs were burning, I was sweating, I wanted to quit several times (um but hello, I was literally standing in front of Autumn and was determined to show her I was committed!), but in the end I felt AMAZING!  My legs were sore for several days after!   The next day I did a fully modified form of Piyo, because my legs were so sore (in a good way!).

I cannot even begin to describe how excited (and scared!) I am for this program to come out!  I am currently enrolled to participate in a 21 Day Fix Extreme Launch Party group!  If you would like to join me, please send me a message!  We can be sore but fit together!
