My Word of the Year – 2016 – CREATE

Word of the Year (#woty)

Each year I consider my goals and dreams for the next 12 months. I create a vision board with S.M.A.R.T. goals carefully planned out to maximize my success [I’ll share this year’s vision board soon, but you can check out last year’s here]. Last year I decided to jump on the Word of the Year bandwagon, and I LOVED it.

So what is a word of the year? It is a word that seems to sum up my overall feelings for my goals for 2016. It is a word that encompasses your goals and helps you to remember why you work hard each day to achieve them, even of the days when it would be easier to sleep til noon or watch tv instead.

Your word of the year shouldn’t be any old word that just sounds cool. It should really resonate with you! Don’t laugh–I’m serious! If I ask you a month from now what your word of the year is, it should be right on the tip of your tongue. Too often I hear people say that they forgot their word. That tells me that it wasn’t really representing their goals and intentions for the year.

My word last year was BOLD. I made some bold moves and decisions last year, and I am very pleased with the outcome. Hence, the reason I decided to select another word of the year this year.

My Word of the Year for 2016 is CREATE

  1. bring (something) into existence.

    • cause (something) to happen as a result of one’s actions.

This year my goals are centered around creating a life that I love! Why not create a life you love?! One that you are proud of and makes you want to jump out of bed each day with excitement?! I intend to create happiness and success in all areas of my life, because of my own actions and not those of anyone else. I want to create a wonderful life for my family and for the amazing coaches on my team. Each one of us can make that happen, we just have to be willing to take those necessary action steps. Well this is my year! I challenge you to do the same!

#WOTY Pinterest Board

I love Pinterest! I even used it to create a board that basically encompassed all the quotes and images about the word CREATE that I felt really captured what this word of the year means to me. You can check it out here! It was was such a fun exercise that before I knew it I had so many photos I loved that they did not fit in a single collage when I tried to combine them for a photo for this blog post!

I encourage you to create (no pun intended… but it works!) your own board! Share your Pinterest board or a collage you have made in the comments section!
